When power passes through the coil, it generates a magnetic field.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Armature:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The armature, typically made of metal, responds to the magnetic field produced by the energized coil. When the coil becomes magnetic, it attracts the armature towards it.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Contacts:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> These are like the ends of a seesaw, where the armature sits. One end is the &#8220;Normally Open&#8221; (NO) contact, which means it doesn&#8217;t touch the armature when the coil is not powered.
